Distance Goal Support

Your goals, distance entries and settings live only on your device. Delete individual entries or goals inside the app, or remove everything at once by uninstalling it. On Android you can also keep the app and clear its data instead: Settings → Apps → Distance Goal → Storage → Clear data. On iPhone, deleting the app deletes its data (offloading it does not). Either way it is gone completely — we do not hold a copy.

The app makes no network connections at all, so there is nothing of yours on any server of ours. If you used buddy groups in a version before 2.6, that older app kept a small set of encrypted progress figures on our server: leaving a group deleted them at once, and anything left is deleted automatically 60 days after the group was last used. That server is being switched off once it is empty.

Distance Goal has no accounts, sign-ups or logins, so we have no way to look up which data is yours: deletion by email request is not possible, and the in-app steps above are the way to delete. If you have any questions or something does not work, email support@bluetorch.co.uk and we will help.

No. Distance Goal does not use GPS or track your location. You either type in the distance you have covered, or — on Android, if you choose to turn it on — the app reads distance figures from Health Connect. It never records a route.

Only if you turn it on, and only on Android. Health Connect support is off by default and read-only: the app reads distance (and the activity type of a workout) to fill in your progress. We never receive any of it, and the app never sends it anywhere — a progress card or link you choose to share shows a distance total and nothing more. There is no connection to Google Fit, Apple Health, Fitbit, Strava or similar platforms.

Your goals, entries and settings are stored locally on your device. Nothing is sent to any server: the app makes no network connections at all. If you share a progress card or a link, it goes out through your phone's share sheet to whoever you choose, like sending a photo.

See the “Delete your data” section above. In short: everything is on your phone, and you can delete it in the app or by clearing the app's data. We hold no copy.

Yes. From any goal, share your progress card — a picture of your goal, your distance and your percentage — and a link. Anyone who taps the link can start the same goal on their own phone and share their card back. The link carries the goal's target, dates and activities and, if you choose, your distance so far. It never carries your name or anything you have typed.

Buddy groups were retired in version 2.6 (September 2026). The app no longer carries anything between people, so nothing is stored on any server. Share a progress card and a link instead. If someone sends you an old invite code, it will not do anything — ask them to share their card and link from the app. If you used a group in an earlier version, see “Delete your data” above.

Yes, you can log different activity types — walking, cycling, running, or other — against the same distance goal. They all count towards the same total.

Yes — the core app is free and always will be. In future we may add optional ways to support development, such as tips, or optional premium features (for example, tools for personal trainers to track goals on behalf of their clients), but the core goal-tracking app will always be free.
